Cry, Cry Baby! What Changed You So?
Why do people change and sometimes become so different we feel like we never really knew them? Those familiar words echo that shock us to the core when we say them; "I can't understand what has happened to you, you are not the person I thought I knew!" So many different clichés are attributed to these phenomena, 'They are strong-willed and uncontrollable or unreachable.' We search for an answer that makes sense to us based on what we know, but there is a better answer.
We absorb the energy of the people and places we spend time with and in. This is an unconscious absorption of energy that only awareness can assist in controlling. Even then, the absorption is taking place while the rate maybe slowed or more controlled. This is the primary reason we are told to choose our friends carefully, to be cautious about engaging in behavior that we may imagine is temporary, or trying something forbidden just for fun. We unconsciously become what and who we spend our time with. When we peer closely at or attach to anything we become a part of the same energy.
If you are searching for an answer to this dilemma be still and look around you. Where and who is your loved one spending time with? You're likely to recognize the same attitude, behavior and belief systems you have been trying to identify in the people they have been interacting with.
We exist in a magnetic field that surrounds our planet, providing the gravity we rely on. It's not just 'out there in the universe.' That same magnetic force is alive and exists around each of us. While we all have our own personal magnetic field of energy, it is always co-mingling with the people who surround us. When one is aware that we exist in a push-pull magnetic field we grow much better at determining whether we want to absorb the energy around us or push our own energy into a situation to better stabilize the outcome of any interaction. People with strong personalities have become aware of this at some level. When they enter a space their own energy and personality dominate the space; this is controlling energy.
Too many times we see unassuming people suddenly become intrigued with and sometimes addicted to an ideology or follow groups they would never have mingled with before. Something caught their attention and riveted their focus of energy onto an idea. The more they look the more energy they absorb. If they take the next step to meeting the people who are already attracted, the arrow has left the bow; the energy and focus is intensified, a change is gonna come.
From Biblical times forward we have been warned about turning away from things that are degrading, disparaging or damaging to our soul. The danger has always been that we become what we peer at, engage in or associate with. Like curling smoke, energies join becoming one.
